Bananas Foster

Sometimes you just put no effort into making dinner (like eating a whole box of frozen appetizers from Safeway) and then find yourself suddenly willing to put an extravagant amount of effort into making a dessert. Wednesday was such a time. I give you bananas foster.

A Day at the Ball Game

We went to a Nationals game on Sunday. It was really hot out, but we got lucky and had seats in the shade. Caroline was having a good time for most of the game, but she did not like the loud noises when the Nats hit a home run.

St Nick's Feast Day

It’s tradition in my family and in Elizabeth’s family to celebrate St. Nicholas Day by setting our shoes out on the eve of St. Nicholas’ feast day (today); in the middle of the night, St. Nicholas and his helper Zwarte Piet bring gifts to good children. And adults. Gifts and candy for the adults too.

Nature Walk

My wife and I went on a nature walk today. We went down part of the Four Mile Run Trail towards Shirlington.
