I Have Measured Out My Life with Usernames

Oh my gosh, this is amazing! If you’re familiar with T.S. Eliot, and especially if you’re familiar with The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, you will immediately sense the quality of The .doc File  of J. Alfred Prufrock by someone over on LiveJournal (a.k.a. not WordPress).

Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a laptop, put in sleep mode on a table
Let us go through certain half-deserted streets
The blinking-light retreats
Of restless nights in free-wifi cafes
And public libraries with internet
Streets that follow like messageboard argument
of insidious intent
To lead you to an overwhelming blog post
Oh, do not ask, “What, yaoi?”
Let us go and post an entry.

In the room the players come and go
Talking of their scores on Halo.

The whole thing is well worth the read. I wouldn’t even really call this a parody. This is an homage.

Oh my, oh my. The two geeks inside me (one for poetry and one for teh interwebz) have joined forces. I should end this post before I drive what few readers I have away.
